KENOSHA, Wis. - Truman State volleyball dropped their second game of the season to UW-Parkside in the first day of the Hampton Inn Invitational.
Parkside took the first set 25-19, the second 25-14, and the third 20-25.
The Rangers were in control in the first set, going up 11-4 over the Bulldogs, before Truman came back to tie it up at 15. Parkside scored five unanswered to be up 23-16, and won after Truman got to 19.
Parkside got out to a hot start in the second set, jumping out to a commanding 22-10 lead. Truman scored four in a row but it was not enough and lost the second.
In the third set, the Bulldogs got out to a 11-5 lead. Parkside went on a dominant run shortly after and took the set and the game.
Allison Beaton led Truman in kills with six, followed by Hanna Berry with five. Taylor Schafer and Elise Gibson each had three.
Lexi Arnel, Beaton, and Molly McGurn all had a service ace.
Arnel and Emma Baierl led the team in digs, with Arnel recording six and Baierl with four.
The Bulldogs return to action tomorrow in the Hampton Inn Invitational with games against Moorhead State and Purdue Northwest.
