KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - Truman State Men's soccer improved to 3-1 on the season with a win over rival Quincy on Friday night.
Luke Payne opened up the scoring early with a header goal assisted by Sam Newton in the sixth minute. The Bulldogs had two more shots on goal in the first-half, but none went in.
Truman went up 2-0 in the 55th minute on a goal from Thomas Weber with an assist from Nathan Grewe.
The Hawks cut the Truman lead to one with a goal shortly after in the 63rd minute from an Alex Lehmann penalty.
The Bulldogs were able to keep their lead, not allowing another goal or shot on goal in the rest of the second-half.
Truman had 15 shots in the game, with four on goal.Â
Justin Olwig allowed the single goal but kept two more shots out of the net.
Truman plays against against Illinois Springfield Sunday, September 24th, at noon.
