Bulldogs Power Past Cedarville 79-72 To Start Season With Win

FINDLAY, Ohio – The Truman State Men's Basketball team clawed their way back from a double-digit deficit and downed Cedarville (Ohio) 79-72 in the season opener on Friday night. Kobi Williams led the Bulldogs with 24 points.
 
The Yellow Jackets led by as many as 14 points in the first half and were up 38-28 at the halftime break. The Bulldogs scored 14 of the first 19 points to start the second half to close to within striking distance. Williams' personal 5-0 run gave Truman State their first lead of the night at 64-62 with just over five minutes left to play.
 
Truman State would double up Cedarville 20-10 over the final six-plus minutes of the game.
 
The Bulldogs scored 51 points in the second half and made 57% of their shots, including seven of 11 from beyond the arc.
 
Trey Shearer added 15 points and Xavier Hall scored 13 with six assists. Isaiah Reams also contributed six dimes in his Bulldog debut.
 
Cedarville's freshman Sam Johnson scored a game-high 29 points.
 
Truman State will face Findlay (Ohio) on Saturday at 3 p.m. (ET)
