KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – All five Truman State starters scored double digits in an 83-68 victory over Grand View (Iowa) Tuesday.
The Bulldogs shot 50 percent from the field (27-54) and hit on 14 of 29 three-point attempts, and never again trailed after redshirt sophomore guard
Casen Lawrence drained a three at the buzzer to end the first half.

Landon Eiland both tallied 15 points with Hall notching seven assists and Eiland going a perfect 6-6 from the charity stripe. Sophomore guard

Matt Haefner led the Bulldogs with eight boards in addition to 10 points scored.
Eiland got things underway with a three-pointer at 18:37 to play in the first, but Grand View responded to open an 8-3 lead at the 16:24 mark. The Bulldogs retook the lead, 15-14, on a layup by Haefner at 11:53 and extended their lead to 29-20 over the next nearly six minutes. A 14-4 Viking run allowed Grand View to take its last lead of the contest, 34-33, with :27 on the clock before Lawrence's score as time expired. Truman State outscored Grand View 12-4 out of the half to extend the lead to ten, 48-38, and would further pull away, 55-41, on a Schearer three. The Vikings hung around, eventually narrowing the margin to four, 66-62, at the 7:24 mark, but a 17-6 advantage over the final seven minutes allowed the Bulldogs to seal the 15-point win.
The victory pushes the Truman State overall record to 6-4, 1-2 in Great Lakes Valley Conference play, while Grand View falls to 5-8 overall, 3-5 in Heart of America Athletic Conference action. The Bulldogs return to action for the final time in 2024 at 3:30 p.m. Saturday against Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, Mo.
