Winter break at Truman State continues with the Women's and Men's Basketball teams returning to Pershing Arena for a pair of Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) double headers.

Bulldog Women's Basketball, 5-8 overall, 2-1 GLVC, returns to action after an 0-2 trip to the Big Island Classic at UH-Hilo (Hawaii) closed out play in 2024. Truman State split a pair of conference games early in the month – a 77-63 win at Southwest Baptist Dec. 5 followed by a 97-72 defeat at Drury (Mo.) on Dec. 7.

Graduate student guard
Jordan Cunningham ranks fifth in GLVC soring with 16.8 points per game while her 4.6 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.6 steals per game paces the squad. Sophomore guard
Molly Joyce ranks eighth in conference scoring at 15.8 points per game.

Missouri S&T, off to a 7-2 overall record, starts the new year tied with Truman State with a 2-1 GLVC mark. The lone blemish on the Miner conference ledger came at the hands of Quincy (Ill), Dec. 7, by a score of 85-60. Senior forward/center Katelynne Roberts leads Missouri S&T with 10.7 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. Lincoln, 1-9 overall, 0-4 GLVC, looks for its first win since a 58-42 victory over Harris Stowe on Nov. 13. Sophomore guard/forward Hanne Nybo and junior forward Ayreona Carter lead the Blue Tigers with 11.6 and 10.3 points per game, respectively.

The Truman State Men's Basketball team rode a three-game winning streak into the winter break with wins at Drury (Mo.) and Missouri Western and an 83-68 victory over Grand View (Iowa) in Pershing Dec. 17. The last loss for the 'Dogs came at Southwest Baptist (Mo.), 84-75, on Dec. 5.

Kobi Williams leads the Purple and White in scoring with 12.6 points per game, 22nd in the conference, while junior guard
Xavier Hall's 12.4 points per game rounds out the GLVC Top 25 in scoring. Hall continues to top the conference with 6.2 assists per game and ranks 24th with 1.4 steals per contest.

Off to a blistering 8-1 overall start, Missouri S&T remains perfect in conference play at 3-0 including a 90-86 victory over then-No. 21 Upper Iowa Dec. 5 in Rolla, Mo. The Miners lead the GLVC in scoring offense, 87.1 points per game, while they rank second in scoring yielding 65.4 points per game. Junior forward Andrew Young leads the squad with 15.3 points and 7.9 rebounds per game. Lincoln's record, 9-3 overall, includes a 1-3 GLVC mark with their lone league victory coming Dec 5 at Lewis (Ill.), 75-65. The Blue Tigers are led by senior forward Franck Yetna with 15.9 and 7.7 rebounds per game.
