ROSEMONT, Ill. - Maddie Anderson tossed a complete game and four Bulldogs collected two hits each in a 6-2 victory to close a busy weekend of softball at the Rosemont Dome Invitational on Sunday.
Anderson struck out four and allowed only one earned run in the 6-2 win over Hillsdale (Mich.).
The Chargers led 1-0 with a run in the second but the Bulldogs scored their runs in the fourth and fifth innings.
Emily Wood singled and swiped second and Cameryn Patterson delivered a single to right for the Bulldogs first run. Patterson would later score on a throwing error to make it 2-1 Truman and Nina Fenasci lifted a sac fly to plate Brieanna Klein for the 3-1 lead.
Hillsdale got a run back in their fifth but the Bulldogs registered five hits in their at bat, all with two outs to score three times for a 6-1 lead. Charlotte Chelich hit an RBI double and Klein knocked in two with a single up the middle.
The Chargers did load the bases in the top of the seventh but Anderson was able to get the final two outs.
Truman will head south next weekend with doubleheaders at Missouri Southern on Saturday and Pittsburg State on Sunday.
