Ty Rauser Throws Complete Game In Split Doubleheader

BOLIVAR, Mo. - Truman State and Southwest Baptist split a two game Saturday, with Truman taking game one 6-1.

Game One:

Dakota Joggerst continued his hot hitting, getting Truman State on the scoreboard in the first inning with a two-RBI single to center that scored Tal Dean and Luke Turner.

SBU's Sal Jacobo cut Truman's lead to one in the third with a solo home run.

The Bulldogs scored four more in the fourth, with Colin Mueth and Luke Turner both hitting two-RBI singles.

Ty Rauser was phenomenal on the mound for the Bulldogs, throwing a complete game. Rauser struck out nine, walked two, and allowed four hits and one earned runs in his 7.0 innings.

Turner, Joggerst, and Mueth all had two-hit performances. The trio drove in two runs each as well, accounting for all of Truman's runs.

Tyler Tieman had a hit and scored once, and Tal Dean was walked twice and scored.

Game Two:

The Bulldogs got on the board early in the second game, taking a 3-0 lead. Dylan Thompson had a sacrifice fly, Dakota Joggerst had an RBI single, and Oliver Degenhardt scored Joggerst with a double down the left field line.

Southwest Baptist quickly took the lead back, scoring eight unanswered in the first and second innings.

Dylan Thompson brought Luke Turner home in the fifth on a single to center field to make it an 8-4 ballgame.

The Bearcats took a 14-4 lead in the fifth inning after scoring six more runs.

Colin Mueth went recorded hits in all three of his at-bats in the game.

Turner and Joggerst both had another two-hit game, with Turner scoring twice and Joggerst recording an RBI and a run.

Thompson led the team in RBI with two, and Degenhardt tallied another.

Drew Hnilo and Luke Wilson both had scoreless outings. Hnilo threw 0.2 innings with one hit, a walk, and one strikeout. Wilson threw an inning and got out all three Bearcats he faced.

Nate Bartlett took the loss.

Truman State finishes up the series against SBU tomorrow at 1 p.m.
