KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – After having two matches postponed due to weather, the Truman State Tennis team split a pair of 6-3 dual matches with Coe (Iowa) and Cornell (Iowa) Colleges.
Sydney Dial won both of her singles matches on the day and the doubles team of
Akansha Negi and
Abbi Worster were victorious in both of their number two doubles spots.
Against Cornell, Truman swept all three doubles matches with
Allie Brown and Dial winning 8-2, Negi and Worster 8-1 and
Samantha Seggerman and
Cora Wood securing an 8-7 win at number three.
The singles matches were split evenly between the two schools. Brown was a 6-2, 6-4 winner at number one, Dial blanked her opponent 6-0, 6-0 at number three and Seggerman needed a third set tie-breaker to take number five.
Coe grabbed two of the three doubles matches to open that dual. Negi and Worster won number two by an 8-2 score while the other two were decided by identical 8-5 postings.
Dial and Worster were the individual winners in singles as Dial won 6-4, 6-1 at number three and Worster took number four at 6-4, 7-6 (9-7).
The Bulldogs are 7-7 in duals this season and will next be at Grand View (Iowa) on Thursday in Des Moines.
