SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Offense was at a premium on Saturday and unfortunately for the Truman State Softball team the Drury Panthers had just a bit more in a doubleheader sweep over the Bulldogs. The Panthers won game one 3-1 and the finale 1-0. The Bulldogs return home to face Rockhurst and William Jewell next weekend.

The Bulldogs had a chance to set an early tone as they loaded the bases with one out in the top of the first but failed to push across a run. 

The game remained scoreless until the bottom of the fourth when Drury loaded the bases. A wild pitch plated the first run then a costly error scored two more for a 3-0 lead.

Truman would get a run back in the fifth as Madi McCarty singled, stole second and scored on an RBI hit from Cassie Smith.

Caragan Baker doubled in the seventh to bring up the tying run to the plate but a groundout to the pitcher ended the game. 

Smith had two of the four hits for the Bulldogs. 

A leadoff walk, wild pitch and an infield single in the first inning gave Drury the only run in the second game.

Maddie Anderson pitched a complete game for Truman, allowing only four hits but the Bulldogs were stymied to just three.
