INDIANOLA, Iowa – The Truman State Women's Tennis team got off to a strong start with a 7-0 victory over Simpson (Iowa) in their dual season opener on Tuesday. The Bulldogs were aided by three freshmen who all picked up their first duals wins in college.
Freshman
Nayana Malangi joined
Sydney Dial at the number one doubles spot and helped the team to a 6-3 win.
Akansha Negi and
Abbi Worster prevailed 6-0 at number two and freshman
Finley Laforge and
Alayna Dostal claimed a 6-2 win at number three.
Dial won in straight sets at number one singles and Malangi was victorious at number two with a 6-0, 6-2 win. Negi was a 6-2, 6-0 winner at number three while Laforge was dominate in a 6-1, 6-0 win at number four. Five went to Worster by set scores of 6-0 and 6-3 and
Mary Grace Seymore did not lose a game in a 6-0, 6-0 win at number six.
The Bulldogs return to action on Friday and Saturday in Nebraska taking on Doane University and the College of Saint Mary.
