SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - A strong effort from the Prairie Star defense kept Truman State off the board in a 1-0 Bulldog loss in Springfield Friday night.
The lone tally came fewer than ten minutes into the match when Katelynn Ward found the net off a corner to provide all the scoring UIS needed. UIS recorded six shots on goal with Bulldog senior keeper Autumn Damron recording five saves.

Aubrey Kaupas notched Truman State's lone shot on goal early in the second half.
The Bulldogs fall to 1-2-2 overall, 0-1-1 in Great Lakes Valley Conference action, while UIS climbs to 2-1-2 and 2-0 in GLVC play.
Truman State returns to Stokes Stadium Sunday for a noon match against McKendree (Ill.) University.
