SMITHVILE, Mo. - Reese Stovall paced the Truman State Women's Golf team at the Kansas City Cup, hosted by William Jewell (Mo.) College. Stovall shot rounds of 81, 82, 82 to finish 26th overall. The team placed 10th.
A long first day of the tournament saw the teams complete 18 holes but were called off the course due to darkness with a handful of holes left in their second round. Stovall and Ana Gonzalez shared the team lead with 81s after the first round and both finished with 82 after the second round was wrapped up on Tuesday morning.Â
Stovall closed with an 82 to shoot 245 for the 54-hole tournament. Kylie Secrest was 35th overall with rounds of 82, 84 and 85 and a 251. Gonzalez was one back with a 252 on the third round and placed 38th.
Lauren Prys was in 51st position with a 267 and Madalyn Breckenridge was 56th with a 275,
The Bulldogs best team score was in the first round with a 333, followed by a 338 and a 342.
Truman State returns to the Kansas City area for the Virginia McCoy Invite on October 7-8.Â
