FAYETTE, Iowa - Upper Iowa took advantage of a Truman State foul to earn a 1-1 draw Friday night in Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Women's Soccer action.
After the Bulldogs worked their way up the right sideline in the 19th minute,
Abby Hutteger and
Emma Thompson worked a give-and-go off a throw in to set up a Hutteger cross from near the corner.
Quinn Nauman fielded the pass and tallied her first score of the season to get the Bulldogs on the board.
The 1-0 Truman State lead held until the 51st minute when the Bulldogs were called for a foul ten yards into their territory. Keeper
Tatumn Damron got a glove on the shot from Upper Iowa's Samantha Most but could not keep the equalizer out of the net.
Upper Iowa gave the Bulldogs a scare with four minutes remaining as a rebound off Damron left the ball in the open, but
Olivia Morris cleared the ball out of the penalty box to prevent the Peacocks from taking the lead.
The Bulldog Women's Soccer team continues its road trip at 12 p.m. Sunday in Romeoville, Ill., against Lewis (Ill.) University. The Flyers (0-5-1 overall, 0-3 GLVC) fell to visiting William Jewell, 1-2, Friday night.
