MANKATO, MINN. - The second day of action at the Maverick Invite saw the Truman State Volleyball squad drop 3-2 matches against both University of Minnesota, Mankato, and Northern Michigan University.
The Bulldogs could not hold a 2-1 game advantage over host Minnesota State Mankato falling in the fifth by a 15-11 margin. Redshirt freshman Makayla Way and freshman Michaela Goad paced the 'Dogs with nine kills each while senior setter Emma Baierl recorded 22 assists.Â
Down 2-0, Truman State came back to win games 3 and 4 against Northern Michigan before dropping Game 5 by a score of 13-15. The 20 kills from Goad once again paced things for the 'Dogs with Baierl recording 28 assists.
Action at the Maverick Invite wraps for Truman State on Saturday, Sept. 7, with an 8 a.m. contest against Minnesota State University Moorhead.
