WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

Bulldog Women's Basketball wraps a three-game homestand with a Monday make-up game against Lincoln (Mo.) Monday before three travel dates starting with Quincy Saturday.
 
Truman State, 6-12 overall, 3-5 Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC), got the better of league-leading Lewis (Ill.) in a 69-60 upset in Pershing Arena Jan. 18. The victory snapped a bevy of streaks including a seven-game losing streak for the 'Dogs and a 12-game winning streak, 19-game GLVC winning streak, and 12-game road winning streak for the Flyers. Graduate student guard Jordan Cunningham continued a hot season for the Purple and White tossing in 19 including her 1,000th career point.
 
Lincoln enters action 1-13, 0-8 GLVC having lost to Missouri-St. Louis, 78-53, Jan. 16, marking the 16th consecutive loss for the Blue Tigers. Quincy (11-5, 5-2) last lost against national No. 5 Fort Hays St. (Kan.) Dec. 20 and enter week's play the No. 4 team in the conference.

Lincoln (Mo.) visits The Ville for a primetime tilt against Truman State as the Bulldogs finish three straight at home.
 
The Men's Basketball squad kept the Pershing magic going Saturday by handing high-flying Lewis just its second conference blemish of the season, 74-72. Sophomore guard Kobi Williams tossed in 20 while a pair of free throws from junior guard Xavier Hall provided the margin of victory and leave the 'Dogs with marks of 9-7 overall, 3-5 GLVC.
 
The Blue Tigers start play this week 12-4 overall, 4-4 GLVC after falling 69=51 at Missouri-St. Louis Jan. 16. Upper Iowa got the better of Quincy with an 88-78 win over the Hawks Jan. 18.

Truman State Track and Field travels to Warrensburg, Mo., for the UCM Invitational at the University of Central Missouri Friday. 
 
Senior Addie Mathis set a new Truman State record for the second-consecutive meet at the Richard Alsup Invite at Northwest Missouri State Jan. 18. Her 2:12.11 800-meter mark broke the 2:14.56 record set in 2023 by then-teammate Sophie Oxandale Jan. 18 . Her 4:47.84 mile at Iowa Dec. 14 broke a 34-year-old Bulldog record of 4:58.07 by Kerry Knepper in 1990.
 
Freshman Justin Moeller won the Pole Vault at Northwest Missouri with an NCAA Division II provisional height and personal best mark of 4.78 meters.
