Kirksville, Mo. – The Truman State Men's Soccer team wrapped up its 2025 season on Sunday afternoon at Stokes Stadium, honoring three seniors whose leadership and contributions have helped define Bulldog Soccer. Despite an inspired performance, the Bulldogs fell 3-1 to Maryville in their season finale.
The Bulldogs started fast, striking first in the 23rd minute when Jacob Panagos buried a shot off an assist from Oliver Doyle to put Truman up 1-0. The Bulldogs maintained that lead through the opening half, holding Maryville without a goal thanks to a composed back line and strong play from goalkeeper Owen Robben, who made one key stop before halftime.
Maryville equalized in the 76th minute, and despite several late scoring chances from Drake Thompson and Nathan Grewe, the Saints capitalized on two late counterattacks to seal the match.
The game also marked the final appearance for three dedicated Bulldog: #00 Stuart Whitmer, #7 Diego Guzman, and #18 Nathan Grewe, each leaving their mark on and off the field.

#18 Nathan Grewe capped his Truman career with another strong effort, logging a shot on goal and playing a pivotal role in the attack. A two-year starter, Grewe closes his Bulldog career with four goals and five assists, including a game-winning strike earlier this season.

#7 Diego Guzman entered the match in the 22nd minute and immediately made an impact, putting a shot on goal and helping set up the first-half scoring sequence. The senior midfielder wraps up his Truman career with six career appearances and one start.

#00 Stuart Whitmer, making his Senior Day appearance in goal, came on in the 76th minute and recorded two saves while facing heavy late pressure. Whitmer concludes his Truman career with two starts and nine total saves.
