Pella, Iowa – The Truman State men's and women's track and field teams traveled to Central College on Friday, December 12, for the Dutch Holiday Preview at H.S. Kuyper Fieldhouse, with the Bulldogs earning numerous event victories and top finishes in the dual meet setting.
Women's Highlights
Sprints and Hurdles
Claire Burks led the way in the sprints, winning the 200-meter dash in 27.31 seconds and finishing as runner-up in both the 60-meter dash finals (8.26) and preliminaries (8.25). Kaela Perez had a strong day across multiple events, capturing the 60-meter hurdles in 9.66 seconds while placing fifth in the 60-meter dash finals (8.50) and third in the 200-meter dash (28.14).
Maddy Hall placed second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 27.70, while Vada Moore finished fourth in the 60-meter hurdles (10.32) and fourth in the 200 meters (29.21). Ja'Mariah Clay took sixth in the 60-meter hurdles (11.37) and fifth in the 200-meter dash (30.03).
Distance Events
The distance squad had an exceptional showing in the 3000-meter run, with Sarah Williams leading four Bulldogs in the top seven finishes. Williams placed second overall in 10:39.37, followed closely by McKenna Ledgerwood in third (10:39.40), Clare Stahr in fourth (10:39.49), and Anna Ripley in fifth (10:39.64). Phoebe Canatsey added a seventh-place finish in 10:44.28.
Additional Bulldogs competed strongly in the 3000 meters, with Ellie Webb finishing ninth (11:04.21), Breanna Mathes 11th (11:18.57), Sophia Kim 12th (11:19.99), Bridget Kemp 13th (11:21.47), Kate Yates 14th (11:21.65), Addison Barringhaus 15th (11:21.67), and Kate Doyle 16th (11:22.73).
In the 600-meter run, Raina Baker dominated with a winning time of 1:36.18. Teammate Julia Brown placed second in 1:39.99, while Tess Harper took third (1:42.96), Maddie Sims finished fifth (1:44.34), and Isabella Von Behren was sixth (1:46.42).
Field Events
The Bulldogs swept the weight throw with Destiny Zimdars winning the event with a mark of 16.31m. Laurie Leroy placed second (14.46m), Addy Brown third (12.30m), Christina Stanley fourth (12.10m), Kayla Spieler fifth (10.98m), and Emily Harris sixth (9.31m).
In the shot put, Addy Brown claimed victory with a throw of 11.40m, while Laurie Leroy was runner-up at 10.79m. Vada Moore placed third (8.77m), Kayla Spieler fourth (8.47m), Ja'Mariah Clay fifth (6.70m), and Isabella Von Behren sixth (6.64m).
Taegen Novel won the high jump, clearing 1.52m, while Vada Moore finished second in the long jump with a leap of 4.97m. Maddy Hall placed third in the long jump (4.81m), while Raegan Derboven was sixth (4.24m), Ja'Mariah Clay seventh (4.15m), and Isabella Von Behren eighth (3.93m).
Addy Winder placed fourth in the pole vault (2.72m) and competed in the 60-meter hurdles.

Sprints and Hurdles
Brandon Howard captured the 60-meter dash finals in 7.03 seconds after qualifying second in the preliminaries (7.11). Alex Marberry complemented Howard's performance with a runner-up finish in the finals (7.13) after winning the preliminary heat (7.09). Trevor Norman placed seventh in the finals with a time of 7.33.
In the 200-meter dash, Marberry continued his strong sprint showing with a victory in 22.83 seconds, while Hunter Keene finished second in 23.20. Norman took third place (24.09), and Riley Connell was fourth (24.56).
Trevor Norman added a third-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.93, while Hayden Long placed fourth (9.35), Nick Fuess fifth (10.11), and Gavin Pike sixth (10.17).
Distance Events
The Bulldogs had a strong performance in the 3000-meter run, claiming four of the top five positions. Jacob Gutzman led the way with a runner-up finish in 8:54.17, followed by Ryan Gustafson in fourth place (8:57.29) and Nolan Meara in fifth (9:01.92). Additional scorers included Andrew Gonski (10th, 9:23.41), Evan Wilke (12th, 9:27.42), Jacob Snyder (13th, 9:31.35), Andrew Kuehler (15th, 9:31.75), Noah Thompson (18th, 9:51.34), Logan Ghormley (19th, 9:53.17), Dan Hahn (20th, 10:11.35), and Josh Engle (21st, 10:15.66).
In the mile run, Brycen Compton finished second with a time of 4:36.04, while Michael Bottary took third (4:37.48), Willem Hummel fifth (4:40.50), Wyatt Gustafson sixth (4:41.12), and Noah Combs eighth (4:49.66).
The 600-meter run saw Gavin Pike place third in 1:30.74, Nick Fuess sixth (1:38.21), and Hayden Long seventh (1:38.60).
Field Events
Tyler Davis led the shot put competition with a winning throw of 15.10m. Justin McKim placed second (14.94m), Alex Long third (14.41m), Dom Novotny eighth (12.33m), Hayden Long ninth (12.07m), Jackson Figo 10th (11.86m), Nick Fuess 13th (9.71m), and Gavin Pike 14th (8.21m).
In the weight throw, Carl Aaron captured second place with a mark of 15.62m, while Dom Novotny finished third (15.41m), Jackson Figo sixth (13.80m), Tyler Davis 11th (12.67m), and Grant Gabriel 12th (11.68m).
Hunter Keene won the long jump with a leap of 6.64m, while Gavin Pike placed third in the high jump, clearing 1.82m. Nick Fuess added a fourth-place finish in the high jump (1.67m).
Gus Lawler finished fifth in the pole vault, clearing 3.92m, while Hayden Long was sixth (3.77m).

The Bulldogs will take a sabbatical over Christmas break and will resume their indoor track season on January 24th at the Illinois College Snowbird Open.
