PITTSBURG, Kan. – A single by sophomore third baseman
Dakota Joggerst broke up a Gorilla no hitter against Truman State Baseball Sunday.
The Bulldogs mustered just two combined hits in the final two games of a four-game set to open the 2025 campaign 0-4 after Sunday's 10-1 loss. Pittsburg State (Kan.) remains perfect on the season at 7-0.
Sophomore
Reed Drabant coaxed a 3-1 walk off with two down in the fifth to break up the perfect game bid by Gorilla starter Brady Pacha. Down 8-0 into the top of the seventh, Joggerst singled to get the lone Bulldog hit of the day and would score on a one-out RBI grounder by
Gavin Schieffer for the freshman catcher's first RBI in Purple and White.
Truman State starter
Danny Lindsey worked 4.1 innings surrendering 10 hits and eight runs, seven of which were earned, in his Bulldog debut. Four Truman State relievers combined for the final 3.1 innings allowing just two Pittsburg State runs.
The 'Dogs travel to Joplin, Mo., next weekend for two against old MIAA foes Missouri Western State University and Missouri Southern State University on Friday and Saturday, respectively, and finish on Sunday in a non-conference tilt against Illinois Springfield.
