Golf Swings Into Spring Season At Midwest Intercollegiate

WARRENSBURG, Mo. - The Truman State Women's Golf team began their spring season at the Midwest Intercollegiate Tournament hosted by the University of Central Missouri. Reese Stovall carded consecutive 82s to finish in 15th position.

On Monday, Stovall started her tournament with a four-over par 39 on the second nine of Mules National Golf Club and then came in with a 43. She and the rest of her team fought through windy conditions on Tuesday, but a birdie on the par-three second hole and pars on two of the final three holes allowed her to jump two spots from Monday and finish with a two-day total of 164.

Ana Gonzalez put together tougher rounds of 91 and 92 to finish in 66th place. Lauren Prys bettered her first-day total with a 90 on Tuesday and finished one shot behind Gonzalez in 69th position. Claire Jarrett and Madalyn Breckenridge rounded out the Bulldog contingent with scores of 200 and 207, respectively.

The spring season will continue with the Missouri-St. Louis Triton Invite that will be played April 13-14 at Norwood Hills Country Club in St. Louis.
