Bulldogs women's soccer traveled to Hammond, Indiana for their second game of the season against Purdue Northwest. Unfortunately, the Bulldogs were unable to break through and dropped the game by a score of 2-0. Despite controlling possession for much of the match, the Bulldogs were unable to convert their opportunities into goals, while Purdue Northwest capitalized on key moments to secure the victory.
The match began with Truman State asserting dominance in possession, looking to establish an early rhythm. However, in the 24th minute, Purdue Northwest seized the advantage. A well-timed ball from midfield found forward Sofia Capoccia, who broke free from the Bulldogs' defense and slotted the ball past Truman goalkeeper Siman Loethen to give Purdue Northwest a 1–0 lead.
Truman State responded with several attacking sequences, including a notable shot from forward Quinn Nauman in the 32nd minute that narrowly missed the target. Despite maintaining possession and creating opportunities, the Bulldogs were unable to break down Purdue Northwest's defense before halftime.
The second half saw Truman State intensify its offensive efforts, but Purdue Northwest's defense remained resolute. In the 68th minute, Truman had a promising opportunity when midfielder Julia Behounek delivered a cross into the box, but the header attempt by Nauman was saved by Purdue Northwest's goalkeeper.
Purdue Northwest doubled its lead in the 84th minute. Midfielder Alexis Martinez delivered a precise ball to forward Ella Chatfield, who calmly finished the play to double the lead. Truman State pushed forward in the final minutes, but Purdue Northwest's defense held firm, and the match concluded with a 2–0 victory for Purdue Northwest.
