Bulldogs Dominate Quincy 79-51 on the Road

QUINCY, Ill. – The Truman State women's basketball team delivered a dominant 79-51 victory over Quincy Wednesday evening at Pepsi Arena. The Bulldogs improve to 10-8 overall and 7-3 in conference play, while the Hawks fall to 8-8 and 5-4 in league standings.

Quincy opened strong with a 5-0 lead on a Blair Eftink three-pointer and pull-up jumper. The Bulldogs quickly responded, tying the game at 5-5 on free throws by Mallory Ott and Emajin McCallop. Morgan Miller then sparked a decisive 19-2 run with a three-pointer, followed by Mariann Blass converting consecutive fast-break layups. The Bulldogs' full-court pressure forced multiple turnovers, and McCallop capped the run with a finish in the paint to give Truman a 27-10 lead heading into the second quarter.

The second quarter saw both teams struggle offensively. Quincy outscored Truman 16-14 in the period, but the Bulldogs maintained control with a 41-26 halftime advantage. McCallop and Miller provided the offensive spark, combining for eight points in the quarter.

Truman pulled away in the third quarter with outstanding perimeter shooting. Miller knocked down back-to-back three-pointers to extend the lead to 20 at 52-32. The Bulldogs shot 80% from three-point range in the period (4-of-5), building their largest lead to 24 points at 60-36 heading into the final quarter.

The fourth quarter belonged to the Bulldogs as well. Katelyn Odem was sensational, scoring seven points in the period including consecutive made baskets. Neylan Vila Delicado added five points and dished out four assists, orchestrating the offense effectively. The Bulldogs' largest lead reached 35 points at 77-42 with 3:13 remaining, as they cruised to the 28-point victory.
