Bulldogs Show Up and Show Out at Ichabod Invitational

The Truman State men's and women's track and field teams traveled to Topeka, Kansas, to compete at the Ichabod Invitational, held February 13-14, 2026, at the Sneed Indoor Athletic Facility. The Bulldogs showcased depth across multiple events in the competitive mid-major meet.

Women's Track Standouts

The Bulldogs' distance squad delivered strong performances throughout the weekend. Anna Ripley was a double threat in the distance events, placing 14th in the Women's Mile Run with a time of 5:13.26 and finishing ninth in the 3000 Meter Run, clocking 10:14.02. Phoebe Canatsey finished 13th in the mile (5:12.68) and later led off Truman's Distance Medley Relay team to a fourth-place finish with a time of 12:28.79, joined by Tess Harper, Raina Baker, and Clare Stahr.

Clare Stahr added depth in the mile with a 15th-place showing (5:16.52), while Sarah Williams placed 18th (5:19.26) in the mile and 22nd in the 3000 meters (10:40.79). The 800-meter distance saw Raina Baker finish 11th in 2:17.91, with Jocelyn Dorsey placing 17th (2:19.74) and Maddie Sims 20th (2:21.89). Ellie Webb was the top Truman finisher in the 5000 Meter Run, placing fifth with a time of 19:01.61, while Breanna Mathes finished seventh in 19:11.27.

In the 400 meters, Claire Burks recorded 1:00.20 for 28th place, and Tess Harper finished 29th at 1:00.38. The quartet of Burks, Harper, Dorsey, and Baker combined to place 11th in the 4x400 Meter Relay with a time of 4:05.73.

Men's Track Performances

On the men's side, Nolan Meara led the Bulldogs in the 3000 Meter Run with a 27th-place finish in 8:51.33. Jacob Gutzman placed 29th (8:55.78) and Ryan Gustafson finished 34th (8:59.31) in the same event. Gustafson also competed in the mile, finishing 16th with a time of 4:26.34. Brycen Compton ran 1:57.80 in the 800 meters to finish 33rd.

Brandon Howard was Truman's top sprinter, running 22.39 in the 200 meters for 24th place. The Bulldogs' 4x400 Meter Relay team of Alex Marberry, Trevor Norman, Brycen Compton, and Michael Bottary finished 16th with a time of 3:27.65.

Field Event Contributions

In the throwing events, Destiny Zimdars paced the women's team with a 10th-place finish in the weight throw at 15.51m (50-10.75). Laurie Leroy added a 21st-place effort of 13.92m (45-08.00) in the weight throw, while Addy Brown contributed marks in both the shot put (10.94m, 21st) and weight throw (12.35m, 33rd).

The men's throws saw Tyler Davis lead the way with a 14th-place finish in the shot put at 15.37m (50-05.25), while Justin McKim threw 15.00m for 16th place and Alex Long finished 24th with 13.90m. Dom Novotny recorded a mark of 14.43m (47-04.25) for 29th place in the weight throw.

Trevor Norman represented the Bulldogs in the 60-meter hurdles, running 8.56 in the preliminaries for 13th place, while Kaela Perez clocked 9.64 in the women's hurdles preliminaries for 21st.


Up Next: The Bulldogs will travel to Northwest Missouri State for the Northwest Tune-Up on Thursday. This will be their final meet before the GLVC Indoor Track and Field Championships.
