JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – The Truman State men's and women's track and field teams traveled to Illinois College's King Fieldhouse on Friday for the Jim Green Invite, with the Bulldogs posting 87 total performances across field events, sprints, and distance races.
Women's Team Highlights
Field Events
In the high jump, Taegen Novel cleared 1.45m to finish fifth overall.
Addy Winder placed second in the women's pole vault with a clearance of 2.75m. In the long jump, Maddy Hall finished ninth (4.78m), while Raegan Derboven placed 17th (4.38m) and Hailey Derboven finished 18th (4.34m).
The shot put saw strong performances from Addy Brown (third, 11.49m), Laurie Leroy (fifth, 11.37m), Kayla Spieler (19th, 9.54m), and Emily Harris (24th, 9.12m).
In the weight throw, Destiny Zimdars won the event with a mark of 16.30m. Leroy placed 16th (12.70m), Brown finished 17th (12.56m), Spieler took 21st (11.69m), Christine Stanley placed 22nd (11.59m), and Harris finished 33rd (9.80m).
Raegan Derboven led the triple jump performers in sixth place (10.21m), followed by Hall in 11th (9.16m) and Hailey Derboven in 13th (8.60m).
Running Events
In the 60m dash, Kaela Perez ran 9.68 to qualify for the finals, where she finished fourth with a time of 9.69.
The 400m saw Julia Brown finish fourth in 1:02.79 and Tess Harper take sixth in 1:03.07. Lyla Rider placed 21st (1:08.56) and Ja'Mariah Clay finished 23rd (1:09.76).
Truman dominated the 800m, sweeping the top five spots. Raina Baker won the race in 2:21.59, followed by Maddie Sims in second (2:24.23), Phoebe Canatsey in third (2:24.36), Jocelyn Dorsey in fourth (2:25.83), and Kendra Zeilstra in fifth (2:26.04). Carmen Gentilia added a ninth-place finish in 2:32.67.
In the mile, Dorsey led the way with a first-place time of 5:24.06. Sophia Kim took second (5:31.33), Gentilia finished third (5:36.19), and Bridget Kemp placed 11th (5:47.74).
The 200m dash featured Perez in sixth place with a time of 27.98.
The women's 3000m saw Anna Ripley win the race in 10:28.07. Sarah Williams finished second (10:35.32), McKenna Ledgerwood took third (10:36.85), Clare Stahr placed fourth (10:38.03), Kate Yates finished fifth (11:02.27), Addi Barringhaus took seventh (11:03.38), Ellie Webb placed eighth (11:04.25), and Breanna Mathes finished 11th (11:18.47).
Relays
The 4x400m relay team of Brown, Canatsey, Harper, and Claire Burks finished third overall with a time of 4:13.97.
Men's Team Highlights
Field Events
Max McMullin won the high jump with a clearance of 1.88m. Hayden Long tied for third at 1.78m, while Gavin Pike finished 10th (1.73m). Nick Fuess did not record a height.
Gus Lawler placed second in the pole vault, clearing 3.95m. Hunter Keene fouled out in the event.
In the long jump, Raegan Derboven finished sixth (10.21m), Hall took 11th (9.16m), and Hailey Derboven placed 13th (8.60m).
The shot put featured strong Bulldog performances with Tyler Davis in second (15.28m), Justin McKim in third (14.63m), Alex Long in seventh (14.02m), Ethan Morris in 11th (13.38m), Dom Novotny in 15th (12.73m), Long in 16th (12.57m), Jackson Figo in 19th (12.35m), and Pike in 42nd (9.50m). Fuess also competed, placing 11th (12.08m), while Keene fouled out.
In the weight throw, Novotny placed seventh (15.05m), Carl Aaron finished eighth (14.72m), Figo took 18th (13.03m), and Davis placed 21st (12.83m). Grant Gabriel fouled out.
Running Events
Trevor Norman placed third in the 60m dash with a qualifying time of 8.70 and finished second in the finals with an 8.74. Alex Marberry finished ninth in the finals (7.19) and Brandon Howard took 10th (7.20).
In the mile, Nolan Meara won the race in 4:26.02. Brycen Compton finished eighth (4:37.92), Willem Hummel placed 11th (4:40.11), and Dan Hahn took 35th (5:07.42).
The 800m saw Wyatt Gustafson finish third in 2:03.19 and Max Hogan place seventh in 2:03.87.
In the 200m dash, Marberry placed fourth (23.23), Norman finished 12th (23.65), and Howard took 18th (23.95).
The 3000m featured Jacob Gutzman in fourth place (8:59.70) and Ryan Gustafson in fifth (8:59.84). Evan Wilke finished 10th (9:12.56), Jacob Snyder placed 13th (9:20.76), Logan Ghormley took 22nd (9:42.04), Andrew Kuehler finished 27th (9:48.07), and Noah Combs placed 29th (9:54.88).
Relays
The men's 4x400m relay team of Wyatt Gustafson, Marberry, Hummel, and Hogan finished fifth with a time of 3:40.08.
