KIRKSVILLE, Mo. — Truman State senior outfielder Cassie Smith has been named to the All-GLVC First Team, the league announced Wednesday. Fellow senior Emily Wood earned All-GLVC Third Team recognition, and pitcher Jayda Long was selected as the program's GLVC James R. Spalding Sportsmanship honoree.
Smith capped her senior season as one of the most productive hitters in the conference, leading the GLVC in both batting average (.488) and hits (81) across 52 games. She also posted 15 doubles, four triples, two home runs, and 25 RBI while swiping 28 bases on 31 attempts. Smith finishes her Truman career as one of the program's most decorated offensive players and is now a three time All-GLVC player.
Wood, also a senior, hit .319 with 51 hits, 10 doubles, four triples, seven home runs, and 25 RBI in 52 games. She scored 41 runs on the year and stole 17 bases, earning her a spot on the All-GLVC Third Team in her final season. This also marks her third time earning an All-GLVC designation.
Long, a junior, earned the Spalding Sportsmanship honor after a standout year both on and off the field. On the mound, she went 9-10 with a 2.86 ERA across 117.1 innings, posting two complete game shutouts and recording 48 strikeouts.
McKendree senior shortstop Lauren Harris was named Player of the Year, McKendree's Sami Huck and Indianapolis freshman Caitlin Bunte shared Co-Pitcher of the Year honors, Bunte also took home Freshman of the Year, and Indianapolis head coach Melissa Frost was named Coach of the Year.
Truman finished the 2025-26 season 20-32 overall and 12-16 in the GLVC.
