Bulldogs Baseball Park, located south of Stokes Stadium within Truman State University’s outdoor athletics complex, serves as the home field for Truman baseball.
The facility has continued to evolve through multiple phases of renovation, with improvements focused on playing surface quality, student-athlete safety, game day operations, broadcast capabilities and the overall fan experience.
The baseball field underwent several early facility improvements in the early 2000s. The backstop was replaced in 2001, and additional work was completed on the playing field soon after. New dugouts were also added during that period, including storage space on the west end of the home dugout.
Around 2014, Bulldogs Baseball Park received a major set of upgrades that helped modernize the facility. The park added its first permanent press box, giving sports information staff and game day operations personnel a protected and more functional space to manage statistics, public address, media needs and event operations during inclement weather. During that same general period, the facility added a new backstop with netting and padding, new bleachers, concrete walkways connecting the parking area to the spectator seating and new batting cages located behind the press box.
Additional upgrades followed in the years after, further improving the field’s layout and student-athlete safety. A new outfield fence was installed, the dugouts were renovated, and padded fencing was added in front of each dugout to better protect players. A retractable batter’s eye was also added in center field to improve visibility for hitters.
As part of the dugout renovation, the dugouts were moved off the playing surface in foul territory and placed outside the field fence, creating a safer and more defined field layout for players, coaches and game personnel.
Ahead of the 2023 season, Bulldogs Baseball Park received one of its most significant playing surface upgrades with the installation of a new artificial turf infield. Completed during the same facility improvement period as the softball turf project, the turf infield provided a more consistent playing surface and helped the program better manage the challenges of spring weather in northern Missouri.
Technology improvements were added ahead of the 2026 season with the installation of a new ethernet switch and Wi-Fi access point. These upgrades strengthened game day operations and increased streaming capabilities for GLVC Sports Network live broadcasts. The facility also added its first permanent Hudl Focus camera behind home plate, improving the live broadcast product while giving the coaching staff a valuable tool for reviewing game and practice film.
In the summer of 2026, two additional cameras were installed on top of the dugouts and directed back toward the field of play. The expanded camera system further enhanced the broadcast experience and provided a more complete video setup for player development, film breakdown and fan engagement.
Today, Bulldogs Baseball Park combines the tradition of Truman baseball with continued investments in safety, operations, playing surface quality and broadcast technology. The facility remains a key part of Truman’s outdoor athletics complex and provides the Bulldog baseball program with a dedicated home for competition, practice and player development.
