Biography
2014 (Junior Season): Did not see any action…named to the Academic all-GLVC squad.
2013 (Sophomore Season): Started in two games and made nine total appearances…tossed 15 innings, striking out five and walking five…longest outing of the year was three and a third against Missouri Southern and Lindenwood…was named to the MIAA Commissioners Academic Honor Roll.
2012 (Freshman Season): Pitched in 11 games, starting the final eight and was third on the team with 49 innings pitched…tossed a complete-game seven-inning shutout against Washburn on March 17, allowing just two hits in the 3-0 victory…struck out a season-high six against a 6-4 loss to Southwest Baptist on April 6…finished season with 25 strikeouts…named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll.
High School: Gerstner is a two-time letterwinner in both baseball and football at Helias High School and has posted a 14-0 record since the summer prior to his junior season. He was selected to play for Team Missouri in the Midwest Baseball Classic tournament in Joliet, Ill., and is a member of the National Honor Society. Last summer, he pitched 45 innings with a 1.08 ERA, posted a 6-0 record and had a nearly 3:1 strikeout-to-walk ratio (46:16).
