Tyler Hudlow is entering his fifth season as assistant coach for the Truman State baseball program, joining the staff in 2022.
During his tenure with the Bulldogs, Hudlow has helped develop one of the most successful academic programs in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, with the team consistently ranking among the top schools in Academic All-Conference selections. In 2025 alone, four Bulldogs earned CSC Academic All-District honors: Rawlins Brant, Isaac Epp, Dakota Joggerst, and Kyle Stratman.
Hudlow has been part of a coaching staff that emphasizes both competitive excellence and academic achievement, with the program averaging 20 Academic All-Conference selections per season under head coach Dan Davis.
Season Recaps
2025: The Bulldogs finished with a 12-35 overall record and 9-23 in GLVC play. The team was led offensively by senior shortstop Dakota Joggerst, who posted a .386 batting average with 59 hits, 15 doubles, four home runs, and 25 RBI. Junior Oliver Degenhardt hit .265 with 12 doubles and 27 RBI, appearing in all 47 games. On the mound, sophomore left-hander Isaac Epp led the staff with 63.1 innings and 38 strikeouts, while sophomore Nick Phillips logged 67.1 innings with 38 strikeouts.
2024: The Bulldogs matched their conference win total with nine victories, highlighted by a series win over McKendree to start the GLVC season. The team posted the second-best fielding percentage in school history at .965. Three freshmen led the offense: Dakota Joggerst (.356), Colin Mueth (.320), and Oliver Degenhardt (.310). Joggerst placed eighth on the single-season hit charts with 62, while Mueth set a freshman record for stolen bases with 22.
2023: Truman State finished with a 19-31 record and went 9-23 in conference play. Holden Missey was named second-team All-GLVC in his final season, leading the team in batting average (.353), slugging (.576), on-base percentage (.458), hits (60), doubles (15), home runs (7), and total bases (98). Truman State received the GLVC James R. Spalding Team Sportsmanship Award.
2022: In Hudlow's first season, the Bulldogs finished 18-32 and were 8-16 in GLVC play. The season saw the debut of a new turf infield playing surface. Holden Missey earned second team all-Midwest region honors by the American Baseball Coaches Association, hitting .361 with 13 home runs and 17 doubles. Pitcher Zachry Schneider was named first team all-GLVC, finishing third in the conference in innings pitched (80.2) and fifth in ERA (2.90). The Bulldogs received both the GLVC Academic team award and the GLVC Sportsmanship Award.
