2017-18: From a walk-on in 2013 to an All-American in 2018 ... one of only two Bulldogs along with Nathan Messer to start all 31 of the team's games ... named CoSIDA First-Team Academic All-American on March 13, D2CCA Second-Team All-Midwest Region on March 12, First-Team All-GLVC on Feb. 26, CoSIDA Academic All-District on Feb. 22, and GLVC Player of the Week on Feb. 26, Jan. 15 and Nov. 13 ... became the first CoSIDA Academic All-American for men's basketball since Alex Henderson in 2011 and first on the first team since Jason Reinberg in 2000 ... that gave the program seven different honorees for a total of 10 times ... Fischer is the second of those seven to garner first-team honors joining Reinberg who did it in both 1999 and 2000 ... Fischer joined Mike Carlson and Cory Parker as the only players in school history to be named conference player of the week three times, but no Bulldog has ever done it three times in the same season and Fischer is the first three-time GLVC honoree ... in 2017-18 alone, Fischer was the league's only three-time winner ... for the all-region honors, Fischer became the 10th occasion in program history in which a men's basketball player at Truman became an all-region performer ... Fischer was the eighth player among those 10 selections, first since Seth Jackson in 2015 and first forward since Mike Carlson in 2014 ... in those 31 starts for Fischer, he scored in double-figures for all but two of them ... he racked up 17 double-doubles, which were the most since Truman Hall of Famer, David Winslow, had that many 37 years ago, and was 0.3 rebounds away from averaging a double-double with a team-high 17 points per contest ... Fischer's 62.4 field goal percentage broke Glenn Jacobs' single-season record (62.1) that had stood for 30 years and Fischer took the second-most attempts of anyone in the top 10 ... also became the school's all-time leader in career field goal percentage with a mark of .608 that obliterated Jacobs' mark of .567 that had stood for 29 years ... made 10 of his 11 field goal attempts on Dec. 30 vs. Iowa Wesleyan for a field goal percentage of .909, which is the third-best single-game mark in program history ... for the single-season chart, his 528 points are tied for sixth and 301 rebounds are eighth ... double-double No. 17 may have been the most impressive performance from Fischer in a season full of them ... on his Senior Day, had the double-double wrapped up before halftime with 21 points and 10 rebounds ... he became the first Bulldog to do that in 13 years since Andy Calmes vs. Missouri-Rolla on Feb. 7, 2005 with 12 points and 10 boards ... overall, Fischer had a career high 30 points, 13 rebounds while going 10-of-15 from the field, 3-for-5 from deep and a perfect 7-of-7 at the free throw line to go with two assists and a block in just 26 minutes ... among the GLVC's statistical ranks, Fischer was first in field goal percentage, third in rebounding and tied for seventh in scoring ... nationally, the St. Louis native was seventh in double doubles, 11th in field goal percentage, 22nd in total rebounds, 24th in defensive rebounds per game (7.16), and 30th in rebounds per game ... was named Truman's James R. Spalding Sportsmanship nominee to accompany that First-Team All-GLVC nod on Feb. 26 ... the student-athletes chosen for that award are individuals who have distinguished themselves through sportsmanship and ethical behavior ... these individuals must also be in good academic standing and have demonstrated good citizenship outside of the sports-competition setting ... named Academic All-GLVC ... recipient of the GLVC Council of Presidents' Academic Excellence Award for finishing eligibility with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 ... named GLVC Scholar-Athlete of the Year for men's basketball.
2016-17: Proved to be a valuable asset off the bench as a redshirt junior in 2016-17 as he appeared in 30 of the team's 32 games ... averaged 7.2 points and 3.8 rebounds per game while playing an average of 16.6 minutes per contest ... his role grew as the season progressed as he played at least 19 minutes in a game once through his first 15 games before reaching that mark in 12 of his final 15 ... Fischer secured a career-high 19 points on Feb. 18 against Rockhurst in Pershing Arena, 17 of which came in the second half ... in the final 20 minutes of that game, Fischer was a perfect 6-of-6 from the floor, including a pair of makes from distance, and made three of his four attempts from the free throw line ... not to mention the fact that Fischer scored those 19 points in just 18 minutes on the floor and didn't commit a single turnover with two rebounds, two assists and one block ... reached double-figures in scoring nine times and poured in at least 15 in three of those, all of which came in the final six games of the season ... in the second-to-last game of the year, Fischer registered his first career double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds in the GLVC Tournament semifinals vs. Lewis ... that day, Fischer was 6-of-11 from the field, 3-for-6 from three-point land and made his only free throw attempt ... named Academic All-GLVC.
2015-16: Saw time in just 11 games, but managed to average 4.5 points in those 85 minutes played (7.7 per contest) ... converted on 59.3 percent (16-of-27) of his field goal attempts ... scored at least 10 points on two occasions including 16 against Grace on Dec. 12 and 12 against Iowa Wesleyan on Jan. 3 ... that Iowa Wesleyan game was one of three in which Fischer had four rebounds and the other two were Central Christian on Nov. 18 and William Jewell on Dec. 5 ... saw at least 10 minutes of playing time on five occasions with a high of 16 against Grace ... named all-Academic GLVC.
2014-15: Saw the floor in 14 games as a redshirt freshman, averaging 4.7 minutes per game ... scored 24 points (1.7/game) and grabbed 14 rebounds (1.0/game) ... shot 50% from the floor (9-for-18) ... scored a season-best 10 points in debut against Lincoln Christian on Dec. 4 ... added eight points in nine minutes against Faith Baptist on Dec. 15 ... grabbed a season-high five rebounds against Saint Joseph's in six minutes of action on Feb. 12 ... named Academic all-GLVC.
2013-14: Redshirted.
High School
A two-sport athlete (basketball, golf) at CBC High School ... was a two-year starter in basketball, where he was an MCC first-team all-academic and honorable mention MCC ... a St. Louis Post-Dispatch scholar-athlete and a D.C. Wilcutt scholar-athlete of the year in 2012-13 ... a member of the National Honor Society.
