(KIRKSVILLE, Mo.) – A goal in each half kept the Truman men's soccer team perfect at home in the 2010 season, as the Bulldogs handed Missouri S&T a 2-0 setback at the Bulldog Soccer Park on Friday afternoon.
Senior Matt Kimball got the Bulldogs on the board in the 18th minute, taking a feed from Matt Sanderson and slipping it along the end line past S&T keeper Donny Gesell. Kimball beat the Miner defender to the line and pushed a shot inside the left post.
Then, in the 76th minute, senior Robbie Narrow scored his first goal of the season to give Truman a bit of insurance following a Miner deflection and rebound.
The two teams combined for 42 total shots, with Truman out-shooting S&T 14-4 in shots on goal. Sophomore Tyler Knierim stopped all four Miner attacks to earn his second shutout of the season.
Truman (3-2) will wrap up a stretch of playing on Fridays-only next week, when they host Maryville (Mo.) University on Fri., Oct. 1, at 3:00 pm.
