COLUMBIA, Mo. – The Truman men's soccer team suffered a road loss on Friday night against NAIA No. 17 Columbia (Mo.) College, 4-0.
The Bulldogs (3-4) struggled to produce offense in the match, only coming up with eight shots for the entirety of the game. Columbia (7-1) outshot Truman by 15 as well as having nine more shots on goal than the 'Dogs.
Andy Chapman led the Bulldogs in shots with four, and four other members of the squad attributed a shot each.
Columbia College (7-1) started things off early with their first goal in the 3rd minute of the game. Dylan Barduzzi received a pass from Parker Rawdon and scored his 7th goal of the season. Then five minutes before the end of the first half, Andres Acosta found the back of the net off a corner kick by Yudai Yamaguchi. The second half turned out like the first, with the Cougars producing two more goals. Barduzzi notched up his 8th goal of the season in the 59th minute and Liam Cain claimed the fourth goal of the game with nine minutes left in the match.
Truman goalkeeper Tyler Knierim racked up seven more saves in the contest, bumping his season total up to 30.
The Bulldogs will take a day off before returning to action on Sunday afternoon at 3:00 in Fayette, Iowa against Upper Iowa.
