TOPEKA, Kan. - - Junior Heather Hargadine had a team-best nine kills and four other Bulldogs added five each, but the 24th-ranked Truman volleyball team came up short at No. 6 Washburn in a three-set match on Friday night.
Truman (6-4, 1-1 MIAA) out-blocked the Lady Blues (10-1, 3-0 MIAA), 8-3, but couldn't overcome a .206 offensive percentage for the host squad.
Hargadine's nine kills came with just one error on a .258 hitting percentage, as she also added eight digs. Junior middle blocker Emily Briseno chipped in five kills and five blocks, while fellow junior middle Megan Sharpe added five kills and three blocks. Senior Kylie Easlon led the 'Dogs with 16 assists, and freshman Abby Moser dug a match-high 17 attacks.
The Bulldogs return to action on Saturday (Sept. 24) afternoon at 2:00 pm at Fort Hays (Kan.) State.
