Swimming Wraps Up Dual Season With Losses To Drury

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – In the final duals prior to their conference meet, the Truman swimming teams fell to rival Drury University (Mo.) on Saturday afternoon on the road. The Panther women won 111-78 while the Panther men took their meet 135-71. Next up for the Bulldogs is the New South Intercollegiate Swim Conference Championships.

Casey Jepsen won a pair of events for the women as she took the 200 free in 1:55.57 then scored nine points with a time of 5:21.51 in the 500 free.

Abby Hempen scored nine points in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:23.32 and Tony Hernandez did the same for the men with a time of 2:18.54.

Jerod Simek scored the full nine points in the men's 500 free and both 400 free relay teams scored the maximum nine points.

The teams will have just over a month to prepare for the NSISC Championships that are set to take place Feb. 22-25 in Cleveland, Miss.
