TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - -
Isaac Gardner scored 15 points, and both Mike Carlson and Cory Myers added 10, as the Truman men's basketball team dropped a 70-57 exhibition contest at Division I Indiana State on Saturday afternoon.

The game, which did not count towards the Bulldog record but did count for the Sycamores (2-1), got off to a great start for the 'Dogs, who built a fast 7-0 lead. Despite ISU recovering to take a seven-point halftime lead and building a 16-point margin with 7:39 to play, Truman continued to chip away, cutting to within 10 on two occasions before the Sycamores eventually held on for the 13-point victory.

With the exhibition tag, Truman was able to distribute its 200 minutes across the roster, with 10 players seeing at least 10 minutes of action. Gardner led all Bulldogs with four triples on the way to a team-high 15 points, with Carlson reaching 10 points on 4-of-6 shooting and Myers reaching his 10 primarily behind an 8-for-10 mark at the free throw line. Seth Jackson posted seven points and seven rebounds, and Tyler Anderson chipped in six points on perfect shooting.

The Bulldogs shot 41% for the game, a marked improvement from the team's 18% line in an exhibition at ISU last season. Indiana State defeated Truman 87-33 last year in an exhibition for both teams.

Jake Odum scored 17 points for a Sycamore squad that was picked to finish seventh in the Missouri Valley Conference this season. Odum was one of the league's five preseason all-conference selections.

Truman (0-2) returns to action on Monday night at 7:00 pm in Pershing Arena, hosting Central Christian (Mo.) College.
