Truman cruised to a 25-14 win in the third before the Hornets turned the tables again, winning the fourth by a 25-18 margin.

In the fifth, the teams played to 12 ties and six lead changes, trading points all the way to 12-all before the Bulldogs capitalized on a Hornet service error to take a 13-12 lead in front of a Brak (The Colony, Texas, The Colony) kill and a Meghan Zimmerman (Papillion, Neb., Gross Catholic)/Megan Sharpe (Edwardsville, Ill., Edwardsville) double-block to end the night.
