KIRKSVILLE - - The Truman State University men's basketball team used a 56% shooting effort to blaze past visiting Iowa Wesleyan in Pershing Arena on Monday night, dispatching the Tigers 95-48 to improve to 6-0 on the season.

Mike Carlson's 18 points led all players, as he shot 8-of-11 from the field and swatted three shots to help the Bulldogs continue their undefeated stretch to start the 2013-14 season. Cole Myers added 13 points, nine rebounds, and four assists off the bench, while Andrew Vander Zwaag (11) and Reed Mells (10) also reached double-figures offensively.

Truman connected on 18 field goals in both halves, shooting 36-of-64 (56.3%) on the night while never trailing against IWC (2-6). The Bulldogs handed out 23 assists while turning the ball over just five times and also out-rebounded the shorter Tigers by a 37-20 margin. Truman also turned 15 IWC miscues into 26 points on the offensive end.

Seth Jackson added eight points and a pair of steals, while both Isaac Gardner and Connor Erickson chipped in six points apiece. Four other Bulldogs scored five points to help contribute to a balanced Bulldog scoring attack.

The Bulldog defense never quit on the night, either, as IWC was held to just one field goal during the final 5:46 of regulation.

Truman returns right back to the Pershing Arena hardwood tomorrow (Tuesday) night for a 7 p.m. tipoff against Faith Baptist (Iowa).
