KIRKSVILLE, Mo. – The Truman Baseball team took the season series against Lincoln (Mo.) University by splitting a doubleheader against the Blue Tigers at home on Wednesday. Game 1 Box Score
Truman 6
Lincoln 5 (8 Innings)

Josh DeRouse's liner just over the top of the outstretched glove of second baseman Andrew St. Pierre drove in the winning run in extra innings as the Bulldogs won their sixth straight over the Blue Tigers 6-5.

Chris Zrostlik hit a three-run homer in the first inning and Blake Marino belted a solo shot in the third to break a three all tie.

Zak Larkin got a clutch two-out double in the fourth to put the Bulldogs up 5-3; however the Blue Tigers evened things with a solo homer in the fifth from Brad Wright and a two-out single by St. Pierre in the top of the sixth.

Both teams were scoreless in the seventh, forcing an extra inning. In Truman's half of the eighth, Paul Trenhaile led off with a bunt single and Zrostlik was hit with a pitch. Lincoln pitcher Cameron Moss got Blake Marino to hit a shallow fly ball to right and struck out Jarod Hahn.

Will Nader played small ball as well when he took advantage of the corner infielders and bunted his way on to load the bases. DeRouse was summoned to pinch hit and on a 2-1 count, lined the ball into right and was mobbed by his teammates at first for the game winning hit.

Taylor Brooks pitched three innings of relief for starter Logan Siegler to pick up his first collegiate win.
