KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - - Nick Tolmais scored twice, and Drew Garrone recorded his second shutout of the season, as the Truman men's soccer team moved to 3-0 with a 2-0 blanking of Maryville on Friday afternoon.

In the program's GLVC opener, Tolmais scored in the 32nd minute off a Matt Langley rebound before burying a penalty kick in the 82nd for a touch of insurance. The Bulldogs controlled most of the day, out-shooting MU 16-8, including 6-1 on goal.

Garrone, meanwhile, anchored a back line that notched its second clean sheet of the season, as the 'Dogs limited the Saints (0-2, 0-1 GLVC) to just one corner kick overall and just three shots in the second half.

It marked the first multi-goal match of his career for Tolmais, who has now found pay-dirt in all three Truman matches this season.

Truman (3-0, 1-0 GLVC) takes its perfect mark on the road this Sunday by visiting long-time rival Missouri-St. Louis at 2:30 pm on Sunday, Sept. 15.
