Opening Kickoff:
A pair of unbeaten squads visit Kirksville this weekend for a pair of matches against the Truman women's soccer team, as Lewis (Ill.) and Wisconsin-Parkside visit the Bulldog Soccer Park for the first time in more than 15 years this Friday and Sunday.

The Bulldogs – coming off three shutout wins in five days spanning from last Friday through Tuesday – will face two squads whose names can be found in the most recent NSCAA top-25 poll in front of the home crowd this weekend. Lewis, who received votes in this week's poll, brings a 4-0 record into a 1:00 p.m. tilt on Friday (Sept. 20) before Wisconsin-Parkside, who checked in at No. 18 this week, makes a stop in Kirksville on Sunday (Sept. 22) at noon.

Truman will have a current 380-minute scoreless streak tested with two of the GLVC's top teams this weekend, as the Bulldog back line has surrendered just one goal in five matches this season. As a result, senior keeper Emily Bozdeck boasts the second-best goals-against average in the GLVC at 0.19 and a conference-high four shutouts.

Meanwhile, after waiting until the third match of the season to find pay-dirt, the Bulldog offense has sparked to life in the past week – scoring eight goals in three matches to provide its defense with some breathing room. Sophomore Alexis Heffernan leads the Bulldogs in both goals (2) and points (6), with five other 'Dogs providing offensive support to go with an own goal. Senior Kristina Weishar leads the team with three assists, while senior Trisha Shoemaker and junior Melanie Hunt share the team-lead with a dozen shots apiece.

Leading the Bulldogs on the sideline is head coach Mike Cannon, who is in his 21st season at the helm of the Truman program. He has a 268-97-39 all-time record at Truman and is the seventh-winningest active coach in NCAA-II history. Cannon has guided the Bulldogs to nine NCAA postseason appearances.

Fast Attacks:
In each of the past two matches, Truman has wasted no time getting on the board and putting pressure on its opponents, as Alexis Heffernan needed just 3:17 to put Truman up in Sunday's match at Missouri-St. Louis. Melanie Hunt then gave Truman a quick lead in just the eighth minute against Missouri Western on Tuesday.

Sharing Time:
Twenty-four different Bulldogs have seen the field this season, with only seniors Suzanne Pelley and Annie Skornia, junior Lauren Seawright and sophomore Jessica Hanson playing more than 80% of the total minutes possible as field players this season.

Bozdeck Continues Moves Up Career Charts:
Senior keeper Emily Bozdeck made more leaps on the all-time career keeper charts last week, passing Leah Hollcroft to move into 7th all-time in career starts in goal (42). She also is fifth in career shutouts with 19, needing four more to tie Jayne Grisham (2008-11) for fourth.

Bozdeck is also just 127 minutes behind Hollcroft for 7th all-time in keeper minutes and trails Grisham by 14 for 7th all-time in career saves.

Pick-6 – Dogs Predicted for Top-Half Finish in First League Season:
The Bulldogs were picked to finish sixth in its first season of Great Lakes Valley Conference action, as announced on August 21st by the league office.

The Bulldogs earned 172 total points to come in just outside the top-five of the coaches' preseason selections, as defending conference champion Quincy was picked to successfully defend its 2012 title by garnering 10 of the 16 first-place votes and totaling 233 points.

William Jewell and Wisconsin-Parkside were chosen second and third, respectively, while Bellarmine and Rockhurst rounded out the top five.

Up Next:
The Bulldogs are set to hit the road next weekend, traveling to Indianapolis (2-1-1, 1-0-1 GLVC) on Friday, Sept. 27 before making at stop at Saint Joseph's (Ind.) (1-2-1, 0-2) on Sunday, Sept. 29.
