Men's Soccer Recap: Truman 4, Saint Joseph's 0

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - - Brandon Visonnavong scored twice in less than five minutes of clock time, opening the flood gates in a 4-0 Truman men's soccer rout of Saint Joseph's (Ind.) College on Friday afternoon at the Bulldog Soccer Park.
 
Truman (5-5-1, 4-4-1 GLVC) took four more shots than the visiting Pumas (1-9-1, 1-7-1 GLVC) in the first half, but it took until the 44th minute to break a scoreless draw. Visonnavong took a Corey Nolte pass, split two defenders, and finished a breakaway past the SJC keeper for a 1-0 Bulldog lead just before the intermission.
 
A little more than three minutes into the second half, Visonnavong struck again – this time scoring off a Tony Luedecke feed to put the 'Dogs ahead 2-0.
 
Finally, a pair of first-time goal scorers put the decision out of reach, as Matt McMillin and Josh Hall completed off set pieces to push the lead to 4-0. McMillin headed home a Nolte free kick, while Hall ended on the right end of Tyler Luebbert's corner kick in the 81st minute.
 
Drew Garrone made three saves in net, before being relieved by Tony Lantz, who posted a spotless final nine minutes. For the match, Truman out-shot SJC 13-6, led by Luedecke's four.
 
The Bulldogs return home on Sunday afternoon at 2:30 p.m., hosting Indianapolis at the Bulldog Soccer Park. Truman will recognize its 10 seniors prior to kickoff as the program recognizes Senior Day.
