Swimming Recap: Bulldogs Compete Against Lions & Panthers

ST. CHARLES, Mo. - - A trio of second-place finishes by Abby Hempen, along with second-place touches for Grace Fodor, Hannah Nicks, Evyn Spencer, and Will Shanel, highlighted the Truman swimming efforts in a tri-meet against Lindenwood and Drury on Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs lost dual scores to both schools in the event.

Hempen finished second in the 100 Breast, 200 Breast, and 400 IM, while Fodor and Nicks went back-to-back in the 100 Back before reversing roles in the 200 Back. Spencer out-paced teammate Libby Opfer in the 100 Fly, as the tandem went second and third in that event as well.

On the men's side, Shanel took home second place in the 400 IM after previously grabbing third in the 100 Fly.

The Bulldog women lost 145.5 – 142.5 against Lindenwood and 194.5 – 84.5 against Drury, while the Bulldog men came on the short end of a 235-53 decision against Lindenwood and a 225-55 result against Drury.

Both teams return to action in two weeks, visiting Lewis University for a tri-meet with the Flyers and Lake Forest at 11 a.m. on Nov. 8.
