ROLLA, Mo.  – The Bulldog Baseball team split their sixth straight doubleheader on Sunday and seventh this season as they finished the month of March with the second most wins through the month in Truman history. The Bulldogs lost game one on Sunday 3-2 but bounced back with an 11-4 victory to even the season series at two wins apiece. Truman returns to GLVC play on Tuesday at rival Quincy (Ill.) University.

Truman's 11 wins through March is second to the 14 the team had during the 1999 season. The Bulldogs also scored over 10 runs for the fifth time in the last 16 games played and have won their last three outings by scoring over 10 runs.

The team hit .323 with 13 stolen bases out of 16 attempts to crack the single-season top 10 in team swipes. The Bulldogs are now 21 stolen bases away from the single-season record with 24 games scheduled to play.

Paul Trenhaile again led the offensive attack. The junior hit .583 for the weekend (7-of-12) with three RBIs, three walks and three hit-by-pitches for a .722 on-base percentage. Trenhaile entered the weekend leading the GLVC in average and was tied for seventh in Division II.

Blake Deaton was 7-of-16 at the dish (.438) and drove in six runs and Will Nader added five hits (.417) with three of the 13 stolen bases.

The Bulldog pitching staff had a team ERA of 3.82 while the Miners had a 6.75 team ERA in addition to 12 errors during the four-game set.

Game 1 Recap: Michael Lockett completed the Miners comeback with an two-out RBI single to left scoring the game winning run in Missouri S&T's 5-4 victory over the Bulldogs in the series opener.

The Miners took a 1-0 lead in the second but the Bulldogs took advantage of some S&T wildness to go on top in the third. Wyatt Fones led off with a walk and was advanced to second on a sacrifice. Corban Williams reached on a throwing error by the shortstop allowing Wyatt to score then in the next at bat, advanced to third and used his speed to come home on a second error in the inning.

The Bulldogs led 3-1 after the fourth on two more Miner errors and added one more in the fifth when Jarod Hahn was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.

Mark Roberts had cruised into the seventh allowing just four hits before a two-out walk would give the Miners life. Nick Ulrich had a two-out single to cut the Truman lead to 4-3.

Chris Allard came in to pitch the eighth, walked the leadoff man then allowed a game-tying double by Lance Portwood.

In the ninth, Zak Larkin hit a two out single and moved into scoring position on a stolen base but was stranded when Williams popped out to third.

Cody Gardner allowed a lead off single but promptly picked off Jake Brower and got a ground out for the second out of the inning. Ulrich singled and Reed Brown doubled to keep the inning alive. Ethan Krenning was walked on four pitches to load the bases setting up Lockett's single to left on a 1-1 count to win the game.

Roberts go a no-decision after throwing seven innings, striking out five and allowing two earned runs. Tom Laudadio threw three pitches but was rewarded with his second win of the season.

Game 2 Recap: Truman did not let the sour taste of the game one loss linger as they scored six runs in two innings to pound the Miners 15-3 in game two. Blake Deaton had four RBIs and Paul Trenhaile added three more with three runs scored while Alex Hoffman threw six innings to gain the win.

Deaton doubled in Trehnaile for the game's first run in the third and then the Bulldogs exploded in the fourth. Five hits and an error led to six Truman players crossing the plate.

The Miners got a run back in the bottom of the fourth but Truman answered with a pair of their own in the fifth. Two runners plated on a fielders' choice and error off the bat of Trenhaile.

Truman had five more hits to start the sixth inning and had scored six more runs. T.J. Wood, Trenhaile, Jarod Hahn, Kyle Smith and Deaton all had RBIs in the inning.

The Bulldogs belted out 15 hits and were aided by four Missouri S&T errors.

Alex Hoffman continued his strong pitching this season going six innings and allowing three earned runs. Austin Olendorff threw a 10-pitch seventh inning, fanning two. Aaron Bedsworth took the loss and was the first of four Miner pitchers to take the hill.

Game 3 Recap: Eric Van Dyke held the Bulldog offense to just four hits as the Miners took game three by a 3-2 score.

Zak Larkin set the table in the top of the first for the Bulldogs with a single and stolen base to move into scoring position. Jarod Hahn lifted a sac fly to left scoring Larking to stake the Bulldogs to a 1-0 lead.

The Miners tied the game on a suicide squeeze bunt in the second when Brett Yasui dropped one down the first base line allowing Clint Wobbe to scamper home.

Truman regained the lead in the third as Chris Zrostlik brought in TJ Wood on a groundout to second.

Missouri S&T tied it on a sac fly in the bottom of the third and took the lead in the fourth when Reed Brown singled in Wobbe with two outs.

Josh DeRouse drew a pinch hit walk with one out in the seventh and was 90 feet away from tying the game when Larkin lined a ball back to Van Dyke on the mound for the final out.

Game 4 Recap: Logan Moose earned his first collegiate victory by throwing eight strong innings out of the bullpen and the Truman offence came alive again with their fifth 10-run output in the last 16 games in an 11-4 series concluding victory over the Miners.

Moose came in following a leadoff single in the second inning and after giving up a basehit on the first pitch he threw, induced a run scoring double-play and a pop out as Missouri S&T led 3-1.

The Bulldogs took advantage of one of the four Miners errors during the game in the fourth. Chris Zrostlik reached on an error and advanced into scoring position. He would score on a double-play ball off the bat of Kyle Smith to close the gap to 3-2.

The Miners added a run in the bottom of the inning before Moose went into shutdown mode. Moose allowed just two hits over the next five innings of work and finished the game with nine strikeouts.

Will Nader poked a two-out single to left and stole second then came into score on a hit by Zak Larkin on a 2-2 count to pull Truman to within one.

Jacob Hinton started the eighth for the Miners and was greeted by a double from Paul Trenhaile. Jarod Hahn singled and after another pitching change, Blake Deaton hit a two-run double to put the Bulldogs in front. Smith singled in Deaton on the next pitch and later came in when TJ Wood was drilled on a 1-2 pitch with two outs.

Truman loaded the bases in the ninth and Smith was hit by a pitch to score Hahn, Nader singled in Deaton and Wood finished the scoring with a two-run single to left.
