JEFFERSON CITY, Mo.  – The Truman Baseball team grabbed their 20th win of the season, the first since the 1999 campaign, in a doubleheader split with Lincoln (Mo.) University on Tuesday. The Blue Tigers took game one 7-4 while the Bulldogs pulled to within one victory of tying the school record in a 4-1 win in the nightcap.

Zak Larkin was on base six times in eight plate appearances adding two more stolen bases to his career lead of 54 while Paul Trenhaile closed to within five hits of the single-season record of 61 during the doubleheader.

Truman won their 20th game for the first time since 1999 and are now one victory behind that seasons' record of 21 wins with eight regular season games left on the schedule. The Bulldogs will travel to Rockhurst (Mo.) this weekend for a crucial Great Lakes Valley Conference West Division series. Truman is battling for one of the top three spots in the division or one of two wildcard spots, for the berth into the postseason tournament

Game 1 Recap: A six-run sixth inning by the Blue Tigers lifted Lincoln to a 7-4 victory over the Bulldogs in the opener. Zak Larkin went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and Will Nader scored the other two runs after being on base three times in the game.

Nader scored the game's first run on a fielding error with Paul Trenhaile at the dish. Blake Deaton made it 2-0 in the third with a single scoring Larking but Trenhaile was thrown out at home to end the inning.

The Bulldogs added two more in the fifth with Nader and Larkin starting the inning with a single and Trenhaile doubling them in to crack the single-season top 10 in runs batted in with 36 on the season.

The Blue Tigers grabbed a run back in the bottom of the fifth when James Earleywine hit a two-out RBI single.

In the sixth, the Blue Tigers started the inning with four straight hits to chase starter Tyler McCreary. Tyler Spencer struck out the first batter he saw but a hit-by-pitch and a fielding error tied the game at four apiece. Earleywine then singled in the go-ahead runs. Gatlin Wiggans knocked in the final run with a groundout.

Truman put two on in the seventh but two straight fly outs ended the game.

Game 2 Recap: Adam Bainbridge broke a 1-1 tie with an RBI single through the left side in the top of the sixth inning in the Bulldogs 4-1 nightcap win. It was Bainbridge's second run batted in for the game after previously doubling in Blake Deaton in the second inning to stake Truman to the early lead.

The Blue Tigers tied the game in the bottom of the third before Bainbridge gave Truman the lead in the sixth. The Bulldogs then added two insurance runs in the top of the seventh, on a sac fly from Chris Zrostlik and a double by Dave Gambino scoring Jarod Hahn.

Chris Allard earned the win by pitching four innings out of the bullpen, giving up just one hit and striking out two Lincoln hitters. Taylor Brooks retired the final hitter of the game to pick up his first save of the season and the team's eighth, one shy of another school record set back in 2005.
