Bulldog Swimming Splits at Div. I Western Illinois

MACOMB, Ill. - - Eight different Bulldog women notched first-place finishes, as did two men, while both Grace Fodor and Jeff Cavanaugh set new pool records in Saturday's dual action at NCAA-I Western Illinois University.

The Bulldog women capped a perfect fall dual season with a 173-110 victory against WIU, while the men came up short in a 186-101 decision.

Individually, Fodor's time of 2:09.45 in the 200 Back put a new standard on the wall at the WIU Natatorium, as did Cavanaugh's top time of 4:46.92 in the 500 Free. Neil Girmus logged the men's team's other first-place finish in the dual, touching first in the 200 Breast with a time of 2:10.86.

Meanwhile, Fodor added a 400 Free relay first-place finish – joined by Jasmine Roghair, Kortney Betz, and Hannah Nicks – to her docket, with the other three notching first-place individual marks in the 500 Free (Roghair), the 200 Fly (Betz), and the 200 Free (Nicks). Emma Barnett touched first in both the 100 Back and the 200 IM, while Meghan Senne (1000 Free), Alison Strickler (100 Free), and Morgan Foxworthy (200 Breast) penciled home the Bulldogs' other first-place finishes in the meet.

Both teams are now off until the weekend of January 15-16, when the men's team visits Missouri S&T on the 15^th before each squad welcomes Missouri State at 2 p.m. in the Pershing Natatorium on the 16^th.
