Match Breakdown:
·         All of the scoring took place in the first 30 minutes of action, as the Bulldogs blitzed the Flyers to a tune of four goals on the first five shots on goal to take a three-goal lead at the one-third mark of the match.
·         The Bulldogs capitalized on a Lewis miscue right out the gate, as a misplay gave Craig McLaurine a clear path to pay-dirt and a 1-0 lead less than two minutes in.
·         Then, eight minutes later, Josh Hall fed a through-ball in between two defenders to a cutting Trevor Kaufmann. The freshman then took two dribbles and pounded his first collegiate goal into the lower-left corner for a 2-0 lead.
·         After a Lewis foul in the 22nd minute, Corey Nolte found Brian Kane off the re-start, with the redshirt freshman scoring a highlight-reel goal from 35-yards out.
·         The Flyers then attacked, getting a ball into the Bulldog defense, and a slick rotating ball eluded keeper Drew Orf, allowing Edgar Garcia a rebound opportunity in the 24th minute.
·         The lead went right back to three for the 'Dogs with 15:05 to go in the opening half, as John Lee skied above the Lewis defense in the box, heading home a Kane helper.
·         Truman out-shot the Flyers 18-8 overall, including an 8-3 edge in shots on goal. The Bulldogs also garnered seven corner kicks to Lewis' one.
·         Orf and Jory Knernschield each played one half, with each player making one save.

Coach Says:
  • "The team played with great energy and was in it together from the first whistle to the last. I haven't seen goals like that from us in years, so I'm very excited to see where we take this." – Duke Cochran

Extra Notes:
·         The four goals on the day raised the season tally to five through five matches and marked the most since a four-goal burst against Saint Joseph's (Ind.) on Oct. 10, 2014.
·         Lewis' lead in the all-time series is cut to 14-11-1, as the Bulldogs snapped a two-match winning streak for the Flyers.
