Two Tiger Goals Set Back Men's Soccer

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. – No. 14 Fort Hays (Kan.) State got two goals from sophomore Maurizio Costa – one in the eighth minute and a second in the 55th – to deal the Truman men's soccer team a 2-0 setback on a warm Sunday afternoon on the Northeastern (Okla.) State campus.

The two teams played a relatively even contest for the full 90 minutes, with FHSU (2-0) out-shooting Truman (0-2) by just a 14-9 total, with the purple and white holding the advantage by one in the second half. Costa scored his first goal off a rebounded miss just 7:41 into the contest before taking a pass from Mauricio Castorino at the 54:44 mark and converting from the top of the 18-yard box for the insurance add-on.

Senior John Lee came off the bench to lead Truman's shot totals with two, while seven other Bulldogs took one shot apiece. Freshman Drew Orf made three saves in net, playing the full 90 minutes.
