Swimming Closes Regular Season with Seven Combined Wins

ST. LOUIS - - Junior Evyn Spencer was part of three first-place finishes for the Truman women's swimming team on Saturday afternoon, while a pair of underclassmen dotted the top spot on the podium for the Bulldog men in the final regular season duals of the 2015-16 season at Washington (Mo.) University.

The Bulldog women fell 138-93 to NCAA-III power WashU, while the Bulldog men capped their regular season with a 143-77 defeat against the Bears.

Spencer won the 200 IM (2:09.37) and the 200 Back (2:07.04), while also swimming the third leg of the 200 Free Relay squad that took first with a time of 1:39.20. Junior Alison Strickler, sophomore Nikki Sisson, and junior Hannah Nicks completed the quartet, with both Sisson and Strickler finishing behind sophomore teammate Jamie Fitzpatrick in a 1-2-3 Bulldog finish in the 50 Free. Sophomore Jasmine Roghair recorded Truman's first win of the day in the 200 Free, touching with a time of 1:57.64.

On the men's side, sophomore Will Shanel won the 200 IM race with a time of 1:58.04, while freshman Sam Heveroh captured the 100 Free with a mark of 47.71.

The Bulldogs will now take the next three weeks off before both returning to action on February 10-13 at the Great Lakes Valley Championships in Crawfordsville, Ind.
