KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - In action for the second time in as many days to begin their 2017-18 campaign, the Truman State University men's and women's swimming teams fell to Lindenwood inside Pershing Natatorium with scores of 120-84 and 105-99, respectively.
On the men's side, the Bulldogs took home wins in four events and dominated the freestyle events including three individual races and one of the relays. The team of
Austin Baker,
Lliot Gieseke,
Sam Heveroh, and
JT Thayer was first in the 400 free relay with a time of 3:10.70.
Individually, Gieseke was first in the 50 free (21.51), Heveroh was tops in the 100 free (46.21) and Thayer was first in the 500 free (4:46.09).
On the women's side, the Purple and White were responsible for victories in five events. In the 400 free relay,
Libby Opfer,
Nikki Sisson,
Jamie Fitzpatrick, and
Jasmine Roghair (pictured) took medalist honors with a time of 3:34.92.
In the solo events, the Bulldog winners were Fitzpatrick in the 200 free (1:57.94),
Maggie Hickey in the 100 fly (58.34), N. Sisson in the 100 free (53.54), and
Natalie Galluzzo in the 100 breast (1:09.20).
Next up on Saturday, Oct. 21, Truman will compete in a tri-meet at McKendree vs. the Bearcats and Southern Illinois with the start time set for 1 p.m. from Lebanon, Ill.
