QUINCY, Ill. – The home nine scored 10 times in the third inning to break open game two of the Truman/Quincy GLVC series on Saturday afternoon. The Hawks downed the Bulldogs 14-1. The teams will conclude the series on Sunday with a doubleheader.
 
The Bulldogs got on the board first in the second inning when Jason Priest led off by belting his second home run of the season over the left field wall.
 
The Hawks tied things up in the bottom of the inning with an unearned run after two outs had already been recorded.
 
It went south in the next inning for Truman as the Hawks sent 12 hitters to the plate and scored 10 runs. Quincy hit for the cycle in the frame with Chris Ward knocking a two-run double, Dominic Miles getting a triple and Jake Walters hitting a two-run homer.
 
Quincy added three more in the fifth on a three-run shot by J.C. DeMuri.
 
Brendan Trimble and Dave Gambino both had a pair of hits but QU starter Graham Spraker pitched seven innings and struck out six Truman hitters.
 
Rian Markes took the loss for Truman.
