RECAP: Men's Soccer Drops Overtime Heartbreaker at Drury, 2-1

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The Truman State University men's soccer team got just the start it needed on Friday night at Drury as Trevor Kaufmann scored his team-leading fourth goal of the season in the 30th minute and gave the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead. However, the Panthers used a penalty-kick score in the 77th minute and an overtime goal in the 93rd to rip victory away from the Bulldogs, 2-1.

With the defeat, Truman dropped to 2-6 overall and 1-4 in the GLVC while Drury improved to 4-3 on the year, including 3-2 in conference action. That 30th-minute score for Kaufmann gives him 11 for his career and just eight matches into the 2017 season, the junior is two goals away from tying his freshman total of six when he was named Third-Team All-GLVC.

In goal, Zac Suazo saved five shots and faced a total of 15 of them on the night. In the team head-to-head, the home team held the advantage in shots (16-5), shots on goal (7-4) and corner kicks (8-3).

Individually for the Purple and White, Kaufmann tallied two of the team's shots while Michael Ruzicka collected two and Ben Nivala added another.

Next up, Truman will be at Missouri S&T on Sunday with the start time set for 2:30 p.m.
