RECAP: Men's Soccer Falls to Maryville at Home, 1-0

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - A Maryville goal in the 75th minute of play on Friday afternoon at Bulldog Soccer Park was the difference as the Truman State University men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to the Saints.

Despite the two teams' most recent meeting, Truman (2-8, 1-6 GLVC) still leads the all-time series with Maryville (7-2, 5-2 GLVC) to the tune of 7-5-1. Friday, the Saints' goal came off of a redirect and J.D. Sohn beat the keeper low right side for his third goal of the year.

For the Bulldogs, their eight shots came from seven different players and the leader with two was Trevor Kaufmann. Austin Morgan, Ben Nivala, Kaufmann, and Jeff Masters were each responsible for one of the team's four shots on goal.

In the net for the Purple and White, Zac Suazo saved two attempts and faced a total of nine shots. Those nine shots faced are tied for the fewest Suazo has seen in a match since the Illinois Springfield game on Sept. 10 (four matches ago).

Next up, Truman will host Missouri-St. Louis on Sunday with the start time set for 12 p.m. Last season, the Bulldogs defeated the then-No. 18 Tritons on Senior Day 2016, 2-1.
